International Bareboat Skipper Catamaran (Sail) course is a 1.5 to 2 day course that is an add-on course or completed in addition to the International Bareboat Skipper (Sail) course.
The recommended minimum age to obtain this certification is 16.
Those who have obtained the International Bareboat Skipper Sail – Catamaran qualification, can automatically obtain the “International Certificate of Competency” (ICC), provided the student meets the requirements as laid down by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Resolution 40). ** For those Students that do not already hold a current Radio Operators Certificate we offer the option to obtain, at a reduced price of 6,000THB, the Compulsory VHF/SRC Radio Operators License during the 11 day course.
- Command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft /24 metre
- In coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore
- In daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions
This certificate is the level of competence that one needs when chartering a boat in most parts of the world including the Mediterranean or West Indies where there are restrictions in terms of cruising area and distance from the base and the vessel has to be safely moored in a marina or anchored before dark
